Ingredients
- 1.8 kg Free-range Chicken drumsticks (about 12)
- 2 tablespoons Garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons Onion powder
- 2 tablespoons Chili powder
- 2 tablespoons Smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon Ground ginger
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sugar-free BBQ sauce (or low sugar)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the drumsticks with garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, ginger, salt, and pepper. Use clean hands to coat the chicken thoroughly with the seasoning.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavours to infuse.
- While the chicken marinates, preheat the oven to 180°C. If preferred, line a roasting tin with aluminium foil for easier cleaning.
- Arrange the drumsticks on a wire rack placed inside the prepared roasting tin, leaving space between each piece for even cooking.
- Bake in the centre of the oven for 40–50 minutes, turning the drumsticks halfway through.
- Remove from the oven and brush each drumstick generously with BBQ sauce. Return to the oven for a further 10–15 minutes, then turn and repeat the process.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
